As a child, she was sexually abused and kicked out of the house at 14. Later, she was a State Finalist for National American Miss Teen Iowa-USA, and a State Finalist for Miss Iowa-USA and signed to a modeling agency. Before long, she was a coke and meth addict suffering from bulimia and anorexia. What she thought was her lucky break in D.C. led to her being a victim of human trafficking. Shortly after, she found herself pregnant at 18, marrying him some time later. Dealing with an abusive marriage, crippling anxiety, PTSD, and depression, she then overdosed on 32 prescription sleeping pills in an attempt to take her life and spent nine days in the hospital.
Given a second chance at life, Kathy left her abusive marriage and was determined to make something of it. She went on to get an MBA from Purdue University Global, graduating with a 3.92 GPA, Alpha Beta Kappa, and is a former Seminarian. She's been a coach for 8 years, and volunteers extensively in her community. One of her greatest passions is her ministry helping women from the Democratic Republic of the Congo in business so that they may establish safe, happy, and healthy lives in the United States.
Kathy resides in Iowa with her husband, three children, and two Great Pyrenees.
